Biographical Information

Dr. Bhawanie was born in the Republic of Trinidad, in the Caribbean, in 1955. He and his wife Angela, immigrated to the United States in 1985.

He completed his primary education under the British system of education in Trinidad, and graduate and post graduate work under the United States system of education. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biblical Studies, a Master of Arts degree in Church History and Apologetics, and a Doctors of Philosophy degree in the History of Christian Thought.

He is a former Associate Professor of New Testament studies with the American University of Biblical Studies (AUBS). He has also traveled extensively to teach, defend, and lecture on the historic truth-claims of the Christian faith. And to hold up, and present the Person of the risen and living Christ and His Gospel as the cure and solution to the human sin-guilt problem.

Dr. Bhawanie, is the Director of the Atlanta Center for Apologetics (ACA). This Center has been founded for several reasons: (a) to attempt to give honest answers to honest questions—intellectually and clearly, and built upon a careful exegetical base—using the Bible as the final, absolute authority; and (b) to demonstrate that the Person of the infinite-personal God lives, and that He is involved in our time and in our generation. People in our post-modern culture are faced with these two aspects simultaneously, as interrelated aspects, and also as two sides of a single coin. Until Christians are grounded in the truth-claims of the propositional, verbal, revealed Truth, and the truth-claims of the Bible, they have nothing to defend in the secular market place of ideas.

Dr. Bhawanie holds to an axiomatic Biblical revelation, a reference point—a point of beginning of which one’s presupposition is fundamental and foundational to all other presuppositions. This is necessary to all theorems of truth, reality, and knowledge in life. Holding to this worldview/thought-form is consistent with our Christian theological understanding of sacred Scripture. Only the Bible can produce [an axiom], point of reference that will result in the correct worldview and thought-forms over all of life.

Dr. Bhawanie believes and knows that the Bible declares the existence of God, and therefore, Christians do not have to prove God’s existence. Christians must see themselves as an instrument of revealed Truth. He believes and knows that holding to an axiomatic Biblical revelation is the only foundation that can withstand all the attacks, and all the onslaughts of non-Christian philosophies, worldviews, and thought-forms.

Dr. Bhawanie and his wife Angela, along with their son Edward reside in the Metro Atlanta area.
