Dr. Lockhart is the Minister of Missions at Greenforest Community Baptist Church and was also an organizing Pastor of Transformation Christian Fellowship (A Bible study ministry organized in 2006 to serve the South Atlanta metro area). This was following his tenure as an associate Pastor for the New Life Presbyterian Church in College Park, Georgia for 12 years where he spearheaded the Christian Education Ministry. Dr. Lockhart is a current board member for the Atlanta Center for Apologetics, and a faculty member of the American University of Biblical Studies (AUBS).
Prior to his ministry at New Life, Dr. Lockhart was the Minister of Christian Education at Greenforest Community Baptist Church, Decatur, GA and was the Director for the Greenforest Bible Institute and Seminary.
He completed undergraduate studies at Alabama A&M University and postgraduate studies at the University of Kentucky. Dr. Lockhart received the Master of Arts in Theological studies and the Ph.D. in Christian Thought with a focus in Biblical Languages from the American University of Biblical Studies. His research in the area of Biblical linguistics has taken him to Egypt, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Mali, Senegal, Southeast Asia, and other international locations.
Dr. Lockhart was an adjunct professor at Beulah Heights Bible College (1993-2000) and is a current guest lecturer at Georgia State University. He has been an ongoing clinician for the Black Sacred Music Symposium held on the campus of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign since 1995.
